Harry Redknapp is back in the game, Redknapp, one of English footballs most colorful characters is back in the dugout..
Redknapp, was controversially sacked by Spurs this past summer, after leading Spurs to a 4th place finish, while also being highly touted as the next potential England national team manager. None of it came to pass however and he found himself surprisingly out of work.
Redknapp, is now the new man in charge at struggling QPR, who find themselves at the foot of the premiership having won zero games in 13 attempts and have only 4 points. Redknapp comes in for the crestfallen Mark Hughes, already admitting that this is “going to be his toughest job”. Harry is going to have to pull off another magic trick, as he has done in the past, at Portsmouth, and Tottenham, if QPR are to survive the drop.
Although fully installed as manager, Harry chose to sat up in the stands, rather than in the dugout, for QPR’s game versus Manchester United. He did however, pick the side and the tactics, after candidly saying, “that he sorted the team formation out, while lying in bed with his wife”. Classics Harry Redknapp.
The impact was there for all to see. QPR put in there most spirited performance of the season, worlds apart from there meek effort they put in lasts week, in their loss to a fellow relegation strugglers Southampton.
As spirited as they were they held Manchester United at bay for 45 minutes, restricted united ti long-range shots that barely threatened the QPR goal. QPR went ahead in the 52nd minute, before United got themselves going with another comeback to win the game, winning 3-1.
Reknapp will be happy with the performance, but would have been even happier with a win. Now it’s time for the real work of finding away to pull a rabbit out of the hat and finding a magic trick to save QPR from relegation. He’s going to need it.
