It looks likes Lionel Messi does it again by winning the Ballon d’Or 2012 for the fourth time in a row now.

The film of the year is not necessarily the one who wins the Oscar. Is it the same for Lionel Messi named Ballon d’Or on Monday for the fourth consecutive time at only 25 years old? Although the Argentinian is the best dribbler in the world and the new recordman of most goals scored in a year – 91 and whilst it is nice to see him play, he is humble indeed, but what did he win in 2012? The King’s Cup with FC Barcelona…

Neither the Liga or the Champions League. Is it really enough to be crowned best player of the year? Especially as his detractors accuse him of not always performing with the Argentine national team …

Who then? Real Madrid won La Liga title which is way more prestigious than the King’s Cup, which would make Cristiano Ronaldo a winner. Or rather Andres Iniesta: Messi’s teammate was named best player of the finals of Euro won against Italy in July and best player of the tournament. In addition, it fulfills all the criteria of humility that is attributed to Messi. Finally, the Spaniard was elected in December European player of the year by UEFA before … Messi and Ronaldo.
