Two youngsters were key in the two consecutive victories against Barcelona in the Clasicos last week. Their names are Raphael Varane, aged 19 and Álvaro Morata, aged 20.
Morata is apure product of madrid’s training centre. Mourinho played him on the flank, blocking Alves’ runs forward and fighting for the aerial balls. He was not intimidated and seized every opportunity he had..He went wide, crossed with his left, and did all the work that led to Benzema’s goal.
Varane in the meantime played the three ‘Clásicos’ and showed the world his immense talent. He added another outstanding performance to his two goals. He blocked a David Villa shot as he bore down on goal, played the ball out of defence with great intelligence, recovered possession four times and only lost it once.
Raphael Varane is a rock in the centre of the defensive line. There is no doubt that he will start against Manchester United.
