MANCHESTER UNITED will have to battle Paris Saint-Germain to recapture Cristiano Ronaldo according to ‘The Sun’.
The French Ligue 1 club soon to be crowned champion have contacted Real Madrid to negotiate a potential move to the French capital and snatch the 28-year-old Portuguese star.
Manchester United — who sold Ronaldo to Real madrid for the same price of £80million in 2009 — are willing to offer £65m plus a player — most likely Nani — if they get the approval from Ronaldo’s agents.
A United source said: “United are not happy now PSG have made their move with a substantial offer.
“They will not give up, however, and have told Ronaldo’s agent of their intent.”
The Qatari backed consortium from France are understood to have offered Real £80m.
Ronaldo has refused to sign a new contract at the Bernabeu. He has two years left on his current deal and said he would be willing to let it run and leave Real as a free agent.
That is why the club want to sell him before they see him leave for nothing.
