David Villa says ‘yes’ to Tottenham ahead of summer move

The prolific goalscorer has agreed on personal terms to move to Spurs and is keen to play in the English Premier League.

Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has spoken informally to Villa on the phone while the club’s new technical director, Franco Baldini, has held productive discussions with the 31-year-old’s agent.

Spurs officials were Brazil last week, where they progressed towards a deal to sign Villa – they also closed in on Paulinho with a £17 million deal.
