This summer Real Madrid has made a radical change to its usual transfer policy, opting for young players over the hype of big names.
The signings of Carvajal, Isco and Illarramendi, and the promotion of Jesse, Morata and Nacho to the first team, will breathe into the team youth and freshness which is much needed at Real Madrid.
The average age of the current team is 25.5 years, one of the youngest in recent seasons. Moreover, the average age of the three players the club has signed so far: Isco (21), Carvajal (21) and Illarramendi (23) makes an average of 21.5 years.
This summer has seen the signing of some of the youngest players yet, since Florentino Pérez became President. It is even lower than the 22.8 years average age of the 2005-2006 season when Sergio Ramos, Robinho and Julio Baptista, joined the club.
