Marouane Chamakh has not lived an easy time in the Premier League in recent years. In the columns of L’Equipe, he returns to these periods of doubt.
Marouane Chamkah now moving to Crystal Palace. Certainly not a club where he imagined land three years ago, when joined Arsenal crowned two superb seasons with Bordeaux and a champion of France. After successful first six months, the Moroccan international has gradually declined in the hierarchy with the return of Van Persie, before disappearing from the circulation in 2012-2013. While he hoped to raise with West Ham, where he was on loan for the second half of the season, he played only three games.
“I made a bad choice. It did not go well at all. The manager promised me that the injury to Carroll, I would get playing time it took me a speech he has not met any. Alou Diarra had warned me but I ignored it and I went anyway,” he says in the columns of The Team. This would not have happened if he had known Chamakh finally settling at Arsenal. He has played his card until the end, but has not always been rewarded for his work.
“I wish I had a little more playing time at Arsenal. I respect the decisions of the coach, but I did not always have a chance. When I entered the game and it went well, it does not necessarily pay back. But it’s my fault too. I may have been too stubborn to want to stay as long when we seemed to show me another direction”, he said. This summer, he finally realized that his luck had gone to Arsenal. It has lost much of its credit, to sign a contract with only one year promoted Crystal Palace. The advantage of this destination is very simple. “I know I’ll have plenty of time to play here. I’m going to get chances and find the net.”
