A last-ditch bid from Manchester United for the Welsh prodigy has thrown a spanner in the works for a potential dream move for Bale.
Even though everything seemed final and a deal was close to be going through, United have surprisingly come forward and shown strong interest for Gareth Bale.
David Moyes was interviewed about the after yesterdays game against Chelsea, but remained tight-lipped.
Some would say, Moyes who has been on the receiving end of being toyed with in the transfer market, has now taken things into his own hands as new United Supremo and is beginning to rattle some cages of his own.
What ever does happen, it makes things really interesting in the transfer market and has shown the rest of the football world, that Moyes has some serious intent and is definitely here to stay.
At the game yesterday, there was a huge banner which read “THE CHOSEN ONE” and a picture of Moyes on the banner. It seems the United faithful seem to think so too.
Rooney seems to have rejected a push to hand in his transfer. After the performance against Chelsea and also having started and played the entire game, maybe this induced some positive energy in to Rooney who has been negative for months in his statements and mannerisms. Rooney, put in a very good innings during the effervescent 0-0 home tie against Mourinho and company and at times was United’s main threat.
Enough there for the Moyes to recognize that Rooney is indeed not his second choice, and Wayne was intent on showing that to the Old Trafford faithful and all alike.
Part of the package for Gareth Bale may have been a part player part money deal, Wayne’s name had been mentioned, but I think after the performance he put in, I think with RVP, Rooney and Bale in the same starting line up was more of Moyes motivation.
Whatever happens, Moyes has definitely shown that he is not afraid to mix it if necessary and his competition needs to watch out.
